Not sure if you guys noticed or not, but I have a very thin hair problem. It started recently but not very recent; you know.. when I decided to care about getting my hair done every day (blowout or straightened) I would say by the end of middle school!
Although I’m not the type of person who would go see a doctor if had a health concern I would just wing it, or try to fix it using old remedies till I actually get hospitalised! Yeah, I know, don’t be that person. But, anyways! I was never hospitalised because of a hair loss. lol not sure if anyone would! but I noticed the hair thinning, along with my family, friends and everyone around me. It wasn’t a comfortable situation whenever it gets mentioned. A girl losing what makes her beautiful (in the eye of society!).. such crises!
I wanted to get it fixed as fast as possible, but I wasn’t a fan of doctors! So I turned to beauty salons, home remedies, and drug stores products. (where the whole problem got started at!)
I searched for years (literally, “How to fix hair thinning” was one of the top in my google search engine’s history! Around last year, I stumbled across the PRP treatment, where they would take a sample of your blood separate it and take “the good stuff” lol.. and re-inject it into your head, where the hair loss/thinning is! I felt it was too good to be true, too expensive, too painful, and finally too risky!!

A year later, I came across a newscast and a couple of online advertisements about the treatment and of course because of all the search engines cookies; I got never ending ads about the treatment for weeks as if it was a sign to go for it!
Last week, I went to my first consultation/treatment with Dr. Rapaport regarding the PRP treatment. Honestly, I felt like I was a hair professional after leaving his office, because of all the info he threw at me about hair-in-general, the treatment and the condition of my hair!
It wasn’t painful like I thought (anesthesia was involved because I’m such a crybaby) they also use a very cool air on the area before the injection happens, so you would feel nothing x2! for me, it was like a little hair pull, wherever the needle was injected!
My next appointment is in a month from now, as the treatment will take approximately 9 months, so I’ll update you guys with more info on it with every appointment or progress. Make sure you follow me on my social media channels to stay updated 🙂
